is there anything you need to do to there food,
You can buy most oftheir food at the produce dept of your grocery store. Freeze & then thaw in room temp water with liquid fish vitamins (bought at your aquarium store):
library/category/feeding/

where do you buy salt to add to their water?
Marine salt is purchased at most aquarium stores & measured with a hydrometer or refractometer.

is there anything you need to do to the water?
Dechlorinate with Prime & be sure the temp is around 78 degrees.

how do you clean their tank/do you take them out/where do you put them?
You stir the substrate & remove 1/2 the water with the fish in the tank

please only answer if you know for sure.
All the articles are in our Library for research & education, so we don't have to constantly repeat ourselves to everyone who posts the same Qs over & over. Pretty much everything you ever need to know is in there. We are here to help but that kind of attitude makes me want to just move on to the next poster who is nicer & wants to at least try to do some research on their own.

I'm sorry you took my comments the wrong way. First of all, I wasn't angry and your questions did not make me mad, nor did I think your questions didn't make sense.
It just sounded like maybe you didn't have any experience and I was just trying to stress that puffers are not like other fish, they are complex and they need special care.
Two other forum members had given you links to some articles that I'm sure would be helpful to you and I was just saying that I thought it would be good for you to read them before making any decisions about getting a puffer.

Once a week a person that is new to puffers comes on here and asks all of the same exact questions that you just asks so as you can tell, to most of the members here is gets a bit monotonous. Again, all of the questions that you have about water mixing, cycling, food, and care for puffers can and will be found by reading the articles that are in the library and pufferpedia. Or you can just use the "search" feature and find the answers in the hundreds of threads from the people that have asked the same questions that you have asked. BTW nobody will really gets mad at others here on this forum. I really enjoy this forum because everybody is so nice and willing to try and help in any way possible without being rude. Oh yes and good job on researching proper care before you buy. That is a huge advantage rather than what the lot of us did when we bought and then decided to do some research

Your questions weren't ridiculous, they were all good questions. It's better to ask something than to assume you know the answer and make a mistake that could potentially hurt your fish.

Actually in all fairness, it's easy to mistake someone's tone when reading typed responses, I've done it before and I'm sure others have too.
