DP substrate!
Well, the one condition of me being allowed a DP tank, was that I have the 'pretty' blue gravel that would go great with my room. Mums
. Anyway, would this be a problem or is sand a better sub? Thanks guys

My DPs are thriving in a tank with regular ol' aquarium gravel.

Okay, so they aren't bothered by substrates. It's just some fish I have kept before require fine gravel. Thanks

Re: DP substrate!
Nope. Most puffers excluding ones that spend alot of time on the substrate or bury threw it.
Although... I find that my DP likes sand much better then gravel, she'll lay in the sand at light but with gravel seems to try to stay off it as much as possible. But I guess its just personal opinions.

I think with Dwarf puffers it's your own personal choice. When I set up my most recent Dwarf puffer tank, I used a very fine gravel, it's almost like sand (very nice stuff actually). But I chose that because it went with my decor, not to do with the puffers themselves.
