Help, please
I am hoping to confirm that leopard puffer fish are a different puffer fish than a green spotted puffer fish. I am totally new to puffer fish, but I saw a "leopard-spotted puffer" fish in the pet store and would like to take it home soon. Any information would be helpful...

Re: Help, please
I have seen GSPs labelled as Leopard Puffers in my lfs. Does it look like the pictures in the Pufferpedia?

Re: Help, please
There's a "leopard puffer" at an LFS near me, but I've identified it as a Arothron hispidus (Stars & Stripes) -- hence the problem with common names.

Wouldn't that be more of a "tiger"?

Re: Help, please
Well thing is, now they've removed the label that said "leopard puffer" and has one that says it's a Canthigaster Valentini!
He's a beautiful puffer though, less than 2" long, but lovely colouring, especially his eyes. If I had a marine tank, I'd have him in a heartbeat, no matter what they are calling him. I'm certain it's a Arothron hispidus though, no mistaking the pattern and colours.

Re: Help, please
In answer to the OP, "Leopard" is just another name for GSP. Do you have a cycled tank ready to house one?
