Do you have any plans as to what you're going to /do/ with the babies?

Ah, just replied on other thread ... but will recap. One baby died yesterday, it was very thin and very frail. The other baby is doing fine, moving around and hopefully eating.

Until I've had the one baby for several weeks and he seems to be doing fine, I'm not going to make any plans. I just want him to grow up healthy. Would be nice if I had more babies, but I will be just as happy with one as with a few.

Yeah, so far so good. I will try to get my husband to hold the little one, so you can see just how tiny he is. I was amazed with how active he's been. Yesterday he went up the plastic tie I attached to the lid and then he was upside down hanging onto the lid, and then he was over on the other side of the container. He gets around that's for sure.

Update: Yesterday I decided to look into the egg hatching container as there's been a baby trying to come out from an egg for days now. I started to worry and thought I better help him out, so I gently pulled the egg off of him. He came out and seemed most happy to be out of the shell. He stretched his little legs and ambled around, falling here and there as any newborn would. Thing is, there was another baby in his shell that had died due to the shell drying up on him, and I suspect that would have happened to this little guy if I hadn't given him some help. I put a couple of tiny sticks in there and when I seen that he was able to climb, I moved him over to the other container where the first baby is.
So now I've got two babies and they seem fine. I've seen feces, so that's a good sign, and they are very active. The first one often climbs up to the top and hangs off the lid upside down. They are so cute and so tiny, it's hard to believe they are real live chameleons.
My smaller female, Josie, was laying more eggs yesterday, I came into the room as she was doing it. And I'm sure my other female, Kitty, had laid eggs a few weeks ago. So I either need to be digging around to find these eggs, or keep a close watch for babies in there. I was thinking of letting some of the micro crickets loose in the terrarium just in case babies hatch out and I don't see them. The parents won't eat them, but they need tiny food and to stay moist, which won't be a problem because I mist regularly.

I will try to get some updated photos of the babies. I'm going to have my husband hold them so you can see just how small they are. That's on tomorrow's agenda.

sounds so exciting - wish i could see them. was in a pet shop in the week and they ha normal chameleons and i thought about your tiny winny ones

I had hoped to get the husband to help me take some photos today, but he's been called into work and I won't see him until midnight or later. I might try taking some myself, although I was hoping to show how small they are by photographing them next to something to show context of size.
They are really cute though, just seems funny to see something that small doing all the things that the adults do. I am really getting more and more interested in these guys. I've even considered possibly getting rid of some of my puffers so I can concentrate more on the chameleons, especially seeing as I will probably end up with loads of eggs and potentially more babies.

What are your plans with all the babies?

I just had a bit of a scare with the babies. I wanted to add more micro crickets and mist the tank, but I could only find one baby, the other one literally wasn't there. And then I noticed that the "door" wasn't closed all the way, open just a tiny bit -- apparently that was enough for one to climb out, and that's what he did. I've got the container on top of one of my tanks to keep them warm, and I found the baby on the other end of the top of the tank, on top of a hot water bottle I had up there. They are so small, I'm surprised I found him at all. There was a kitchen towel on top of the tank as well as the hot water bottle, and I moved the towel before I realised one was missing. What if that baby had been on the towel? Could have been very bad. But thankfully I found the baby and he's now back into the container with his sibling and I've shut the "door" more securely and I don't think there will be any more AWOL's.
Very scary though.

First of all, we don't have "quarters" in England, but I know what you meant by taking a photo with something that will convey the size of the baby chameleon. And I am not entirely sure what I will be doing with the babies. I don't want to put them in with the others because there would be inbreeding. So will have to figure something out when they are a bit bigger.

Surely you can flog em on, even if its for store credit you'll be saving on food bills for the adults.

I have a feeling that I could probably trade them for adults at the place where I get mine from, or sell them outright and make a little money. There's actually quite a few people always trying to get ahold of these guys and if I lower my price by 5 pounds or so, I can find homes for them very easily.
