Wow 28" long!!! Care to give any details on the "rescue"? I'd love to hear about it if you don't mind. Just curious, what size tank do you have him in?

By the way, my Mbu enjoys the company of other fish too! :D

Gorgeous Mbu :) I told my boyfriend he's lucky I didn't 'accidentally' come home with an Mbu... He's gorgeous though! I'd love to hear more details on the rescue too, and does he (or she!) have a name??

sorry for the late response but been rescuing reptiles and other fish!!!!!!!
sadly he was bought when he was 6"long and he was put in an extremley large 5ft x 18" x 18" tank,
seven years and 22" later he was still in the same tank!!!
the person who had him before meant well but his teeth were over grown and his spine is bent so if it was straight he could even touch 30-31"!!!!!
he is in a 8x3x3ft tank on sand and some fake plants , he hates being alone ! if he is he just lays on the bottom not eating. he has silver dollars and a breeding pair of jackdempseys and babies with him

I've got an Mbu that's in a tank that's quickly becoming too small for him, although he can move around very easily without getting all bent up -- it's not nearly long enough. I am hoping to get a bigger tank soon, although I'm giving myself a deadline of up until December, and if I can't get a proper tank for him by then, I am going to rehome him because I don't want to cause him any problems. I love him to bits and that's why I will rehome him if I have to. BeeBoo enjoys being with other fish as well and hasn't a mean bone in his body. :)

Any chance we could see some more photos of your rescued Mbu?
