Fahaka.

Post by Clowntje »

The fahaka we purchased is still at the lfs, she has been brought in to them by the old owner because he couldnt keep her on weight with bloodworms and snails. She feeds there on crabs, a special mix with shrimps and extra vitamins added and she is back on weight but have been there for a quite period of time. hubby has been working hard on the tank and stand he hopes it is ready on wednesday.

I can put my 2 figure 8's back in the 110 liter and my dp back in their 60 liter. i can seed the 2 pumps with the filterstuff from my eheim pro 3's from my Clowns tank. Can i go get here and put her in my 180 liter with the existing filter and the seeded filter?

I figured she might be better of here, and if she turns out to have catched anything nasties there, it might be easier to treath here in the 180 liter instead of in 830 liter. she is about 20 cm including tale.
Where not afraid of doing 100% changes if needed in the meanwhile.

So what do u think can i go pick here up?

No,

Wensday is only 4 nights away, no point putting all that stress on all your fish moving them around and extra stress on the fahaka moving him twice. I'd have the filter that's going to be on the fahakas tank running on another established tank and help out your hubby as much as you can.

Best of luck, post lots of photos. I'm still working on my Fahaka's tank.

Ill wait to pick her up. altough i found it sad that she is in a too small tank there, but she is paid for and they wont sell her to anybody else. They are actually glad that we want to take her, we come there for years and they do take our advise.

Yeah, when I got my 1.5" Fahaka from a LFS it was in a little hang on container for a month, now its 2 months since I got her/him and I see no growth. Fahaka should grow 1" per mo. but my Fahaka its stuck at 2" with back fin

So, I dont know if that could effect his growth rate.

My cousin mention that my Fahaka was in that container for a period of 3 - 4 weeks
