Cool vid I like how hes like Thank U Dad at like 20sec in the first vid.

In the second vid those worms look alot like the live blackworms I get. If they are keep them in the fridge and theyll last twice as long bc they go dormant. For about 2 weeks and 1 week when left out in the open like like that. Same thing for Live brine shrimp too. Also keeps the water from gettin real stinky too.

I can't put the live worms in the fridge...my parents would kill me. Not surprised though... . They are actually really active and eat vigourously (tubifex worms).

I don't know if anybody reads this post anymore...but here's another update.
So I returned my beloved Squirt for a new DP today. She placed a block of frozen bloodworms in the tank *as previously promised* to aid me in finding a fish that will eat frozen food. After waiting a good 5 minutes only 1 fish nibbled on the frozen food. I was astonished!! Last week when she gave them frozen food...5 ate them vigourously. It ended up that all of those previous fish have been sold!! I decided to take the fish that nibbled on the frozen food to try him out. But I am really disappointed...you see...if he refuses to eat the frozen food...I would have to return him as well. And if no other fish shows interest in frozen food...I may have to give up on the species all together. It's horrible just thinking about the fact, but I may have no choice. I have already considered another fish just in case DPs don't work out, bettas. But I still do enjoy puffer species, it's just that the ones at my lfs will not eat frozen. I just hope that Picles *yes I named him/her* will work out. Please wish me the best of luck everyone!! Send your prayers, use a wish bone, it doesn't matter!! Just send me some luck! PLEASE!!

I finally got though this entire thread. How long since that puff has eaten? Have you tried the garlic yet? You sound really in love with puffers. I hope you stick with it & see this though. It is my belief that if the puffer is hungry enough, it will eat.

you mean the block was still frozen and floating when she paced it in?

I have done that for my angel fish but I always thaw it out fro the puffers. DPs may be different but I don't know if they should be "cold" foods.

I agree--always defrost & toss the "juice". Did he eat yet?

When she placed it in it was semi frozen. There was no visible ice but the bloodworms were still stuck in a cube shape. But I don't do that...I unfreeze the whole things usually.

Okay everyone bad news. I have been trying to get Pickles to eat but just like Squirt...refuses to eat. Today I will try the soaked in garlic method. If this doesn't work then I have no other option other than give up on the Dwarf Puffer species.

Very strange... I'd still give him a few days to adjust & get used to dead foods. You've got enough cover in there for him to feel safe?
