I used to feed crickets to my puffers when I was buying the bigger ones for my mudskippers, thing is, unless you sort of incapacitate the cricket (partial smash), they will climb out of the tank, you would not believe how long they can live underwater also. So I started bashing mine so they could not escape, otherwise it was crickets on the loose during the night and they always seemed to get on me when I was watching tv! :scared:

When I kept frogs, there were always crickets everywhere in my house. It sounded like camping!
You are getting sleepy... you only hear the sound of my voice... you must do water changes... water changes... water changes... water changes...

I'm pretty vigilant (and the puffers are VERY vigilant) about not letting crickets escape. The trick is to not put more than one per fish in the tank and only while the puffs are paying attention. If you accidentally dump out more than you want you can either grab up the crickets before the puffs get to them and drop them back in their enclosure, or poke them under the waters surface which slows them down long enough for the puffs to get them.

It sounds really evil when describing it..
