Black dog faced puffer help

Post by dasboot1 »

Hey all, poped into a local shop today to grab some food and saw a jet black dog faced puffer about 2" who looked very stressed out and was being pushed around by a cleaner wrasse (bluestreak), I couldnt help myself and brought him home with me lol.

Anyway he loves his new tank and seams to be happy with all the others,

The issue is I only have a 130 ltr tank.

I would like to know how fast they grow and what size, i have found info on the spotted ones and hush puppy but cant find any black one's

I don't think it's going to last long in a 34g tank. What other fish are in there? I'd love to see a pic of the lil fella!

Your tank is already overstocked (with your fish at adult sizes). What are your plans for this puffer & your other fish?

It will be getting close to 12" within 2 years or less. Pufferpedia says 12" max my by buddies is already 14". You might consider finding other arrangements for this fish (and the tang) if you can't setup a 100g+ tank...

If the "topaz" is a Ceylon (T fluvitilis), then it will need 40g.
