My Dog is a Google Star!

Post by pufferpuggirl »

Yesterday I got quite a chuckle. We use Google maps a lot right now because my husband's SatNav (GPS) recently broke, so if we are going anywhere new we look it up on Google maps. So yesterday we were going to a place we weren't sure of how to get there, and so I looked up the directions on Google maps. Thing about Google maps over here in the UK is that they actually have real photos of the roads as you go down your directions. So say we're starting off on my street, there is a real photo of my street, and then for each step of the way there's a real photo showing you what it looks like, so you know how to go. I think it's pretty cool. :grats:

So we look up the directions and as we are starting from my house, the first photo is of course my street, and you can manipulate the photos to go further up or down the street, or turn in any direction. So just to play with it, I turned the photo so that it was facing my front door. When I did, there's my dog Chessie (Chesapeake Bay Retriever) looking out the door directly at the Google camera! And with each photo you can see her looking at the camera. I just had to laugh! :giggle:

Now I jokingly call her my "Google Star". I just thought it was a bit funny, but then again, I'm easily amused. :roflmfao:

The photos that are up are just from last year, 2009 ... so that's not too bad. I know when I looked it up last year they were different, so they must update fairly regularly, which is good. I used to spy on my mother from over here, but they stopped doing it in her area so close ... I heard that someone sued them (Google).
