How many dogface puffers can I have in a 220 gallon tank
I would like to have 2 dog-face puffers... I currently have in the tank a 3 inch lion fish. And I would like to have a Niger trigger-fish since they are the least aggressive. Other than that maybe a tang or angelfish. I think they might be ok since I have a lot of lace rock that I have made caves and walls out of. I already have on dog-face puffer, but he is in hospital tank due to a powerhead accident that is talked about on the hospital forum.
Smiles are free... so give them away...

I am unable to answer about how many dog face puffers but was looking at your list. I am new to puffers my self but I am a trigger & Lion keeper.
The Niger is considered a medium Aggressive & can be hit or miss when it comes to the lion, just like a Pink tail trigger that is also hit or miss.
The least aggressive triggers are from the Xanthichthys family which includes Blue Throat, Crosshatch & Sargassum, these are easygoing triggers that have been kept with Lion fish..........
Just keep in mind they are hit & miss, you will have to keep a eye on the Niger Trigger when it comes to the lion or any other fish in your tank.
Hope this helps,
Kaye

NO sorry, the mixing of those three fish are usually not good news. I have kept all three before. and this is the gist of what will happen.
the trigger will harass the puffer, the puffer will find the lions fins to be way to attractive as potential food, and the trigger will finish off a wounded lion easy.
not to mention the damgae a niger can do to the dogfaced either.
sometimes you can do triggers with full sized puffers, but triggers grow much faster than puffers, and generally even though nigers are nicer triggers, they can become very beligerant with time.
