GSP tank mates.

I was wanting to know what kind of fish i can put in a tank with Green Spotted puffer. The tank i have 30 gal. (113.5l.).

In 30 gallons, you really won't have room for tankmates. Puffers are really messy fish that get their water quite dirty, fast, so we look at both size, aggression and waste output when recommending minimum tank sizes. A GSP needs 30 gallons just for itself, when it is an adult.

I'm sure it looks tiny now, but what you see in the store is just a baby, they get pretty darn big.

If you have a bigger tank, it depends on what kind of water you keep it in. If you go full marine, you'll have more choices, but you'll want them all to be faster, smart fish that can escape the hunting puffer. If you stay higher end brackish, you are more limited in what is available. But either way, a puffer can and will chomp their tankmates at any time. Often GSP's are more peaceful when they are young, then turn aggressive as they mature, so that makes it hard too.

+1 a 30g will be too small to add other fish.

Indeed its to small. They are very large and messy

Just make him happy and spoil him with a variety of food and lots of decor and hell become a lil fatty and will be real cool to watch

Even if your tank was bigger, I'd be very careful about putting any tankmates in with a GSP. They can be very territorial and a bit nippy as well.

i have a couple of bbgs in with my gsp
they are fine together
i know he can eat em when hes bigger.
but thats a long way off until he grows big enough

i will be putting my bbgs in a different tank when my gsp grows bigger.
depends also on personality of your puffer
some tolerate tank mates, and some dont

Very true on the personality aspect, that's why I said to be "careful". Some people have good luck with keeping other fish with GSP's and some don't.

^ What she said. My GSP has been living with his Ghost shrimp lunch for months. Though if I ever even HINT at putting a snail in there it never reaches the bottom of the tank before it's eaten and the shell spit out and he's a baby my little Fugu. I'm going to go full marine with my little GSP and just get him a bunch of nice corals and see if some hermit crabs will live with him (lets see how good they are at hiding)

Just to go off topic for a moment --- but solothedrunk, are you keeping that Fugu in brackish water? I recently seen some for sale and wasn't sure how they would do in a brackish tank. I'm not prepared to go to saltwater right now.
