BLOAT IS HERE

I'm glad you've given him some jumbo shrimp, it's a bit more nutritious than the ghost shrimp. Every few days I soak my shrimp and mussels in vitamins overnight, just so they get a good dose. I always soak my bloodworm in vitamins, although I've never seen my Fahaka eating bloodworms.

Good question -- does anyone else's Fahaka eat bloodworm?

Mine ate 1. That one i had to drop right in front of his face. All the others that i tried to give him he ignored. Though the ghost shrimp in my tank loved em. lol

Filbert has bitten countless worm cone feeders getting at the blackworms I feed his tank mates. Try feeding your stored black/bloodworms some old flakes or crushed FD krill/plankton.

My fahaka was all about blood worms for a while, that's slowed down quite a bit. I tossed a couple in out of curiosity the other day - and they floated around, and after a little bit he did go around and pick them out of the substrate. I guess he'll still eat them - I just hate to think they are just chillin in the substrate.

Just fed Bloat is med soaked earthworm. After he was done eating, i went to pull out the left over earthworm and saw it start moving. At first i was amazed it was still moving after bein in the water for so long and bein beat on my Bloat. Then it started to "run" away from me. Thats when I noticed 2 ghost shrimp on the other end pulling it away from me LOL. Just hope the meds dont kill the shrimp.

He's so cute!! I like how he's got all his stripes for being so small. Obie didn't get his stripes until he was much bigger. That's one adorable little Fahaka you've got there.

What about a tank that is 48 x 24 x 17 for Bloat as perment home? It equals out to 95 gallons

I think you need to go bigger .... is that 17" from front to back? I would guess you'd need closer to 24". You're going to need to get a minimum of 120 gallons I would think.

same measurements as a 120 just not as tall

footprint size it would work, but you'd probably want more water volume in the long run (you could hook it up with a sump), that or expect to do more water changes, more frequently, as he gets bigger.

The footprint is very nice though. I've looked at a 110 that was similar, just a little taller and was told it would work nicely.
