Aster -- just a note on photography, see if your camera has a "macro" setting. I had no clue about this until another member pointed it out and now I can take close-ups of my puffers without any blurriness. On my camera the macro setting shows a "flower" and is near the "two mountains". Play around with the settings until you find it, but if you have that setting, it should allow you to get better photos. :)

Also my poor gouroumi(sp) his scales are coming off some this killed the other one like him that i had and he at the time showed no symptoms but now he is getting it and it appears to be progressing in the same fashion as the other one did started at his head and slowly made stripes around his body .

You are very welcome Aster, glad it worked for you. The molly doesn't look sick to me, I think maybe those spots are just part of his ornamentation ... however, the gourami sounds bad and I am not certain what that would be. Poor fishy. :(

you could treat it in the 10 gal as long as you have a spare filter handy for the original tank.

Melafix is dangerous for anabatoids.
"I will give you a talisman. Whenever you are in doubt, or when the self becomes too much with you, apply the following test. Recall the face of the poorest and the weakest man whom you may have seen, and ask yourself, if the step you contemplate is going to be of any use to him or her. Will she gain anything by it? Will it restore her to a control over her own life and destiny? In other words, will it lead to freedom for the hungry and spiritually starving millions? Then you will find your doubts and your self melt away."

hrmm well im glad you posted that i will stop treatment with the melafix then i suppose , i had already put it in the 55 though tonight =( however i didn't remove the carbon filter inserts so i guess maybe it didnt last long in the water anyhow ? after reading this i also went and did a 40 % water change .
