I actually haven't aquascaped as of yet... haha still in the grow out stage. Was supposed to transplant this weekend but worked a few hours too late.

it happened!!

Green spot algae!!

in 1/4 of the tank I have green spot algae. I have not done CO2 for a few weeks and have not done ferts for equally as long. My lighting is below par but the ambient temp is above par as is the ambient light. I am loosing about 50 gals a week in evap. It is very dry and hot these recent days.

I will try to reduce the lighting.

I am also going back to the ferts and double the PO4 (Potassium levels) to help with it.

Will turning the CO2 back on help or make it worse?

In the plant pic you posted for flutter, on the right hand side next to the Barclaya longifolia sp. Red, there is a pretty green with silver veined plant, that is called aluminum plant, but it's non-aquatic. Eventually, it'll die & rot...

As for you thing about GSA, I really like that stuff compared to pea soup algae or BBA...lol I'm probably the only person who actually finds that it "completes a tank"...

yea I knew about that plant ... I really like how you set them up in your system with the leaves emerged. I tried that and they died.

I am going to try to have the leaves emerged but bagged this time

Yeah, that tank got to be a bother, but it was pretty while it lasted! I guess 3WPG doesn't grow *EVERYTHING* that great... :S

I clipped a puffer's teeth today!! WOO HOO!!

I didn't use the MS-222. I just netted it, held it and clipped the top ones. It puffed up (so cute) but went back to normal as soon as I released it.

I noticed that there is a gap in the teeth so stringy shrimp gets caught in it.

Anyone know a good puffer orthodontist?

Rant:

We had an earthquake today while I was at work. The wife never did a walk through the home to see if there was any damage done. I come home today to find the basement flooded again. I don't know if there is a leak in one of the seams or if it was a tube that got knocked loose. The CO2 hose came off the bubble counter when the canister fell over and that was dripping onto the floor, but there is a LOT of water. Also some of my leak check paper is wet in places it shouldn't be. Talk about frustration.

I wonder if I should claim insurance on this thing and start over.

Wow, nice tanks. You must need a huge wall to put them inside of the house. How much space are they going to take up. That is my problem i have one 10 gallon, one 15 gallon and one 125 gallon. Still looking for more wall space in the house to put more tanks. Hope you show us pics when they are all set up and running.

Check that vid. The problem is that IF I do find a seal leak .. I might have to tear it down I just pray that it was the bubble counter getting water everywhere.

I have no helpful advice but I wanted to say how awesome your tanks are!!
Looking at your tanks gives me two feelings, 1.) Depressed, because I don't have the room for more tanks and that my tanks don't look as nice. 2.)Motivated, to make my tanks look as nice as yours!!

Didja ever find out where all the water came from? I hope so! I also hope it didn't mean you had to do a complete tear down!

I put a strip of painters tape at the waterline when I re-filled the tank. The water level hasn't changed that much at all so I am going with the drippy bubble counter. Some of it must have leaked under the tank while the majority of it went on the floor Of course I still have nightmares of it leaking sometimes

I just clipped 2 puffers (SAPs) teeth using standard nail clippers. I didn't even need the MS-222. They both were fairly relaxed in the net and didn't even puff up. I'll have to purchase some cuticle clippers because the standard nail clippers are curved and leave sharp angled points on the teeth.

I seem to have been overly nervous / paranoid for no reason (again)

I am going to have to trim it down a bit. It is getting a little out of control.
