Hey peeps
I have a small established piece of bogwood in Nookis tank with a fake plant root, but think at the other end of the tank another piece is need, lengthier. Just need advice whether to go for it, as read that bogwood lowers PH
?

Re: Bogwood
Wood does lower the PH but not too drastically, if it does drop further than you'd like it to then you could always put a little crushed coral in the filter in a mesh bag to bring it back up slightly

Re: Bogwood
Hey lilacamy931!
I always use a lot of (cured or new) bogwoods in my F8s' tank (they both love to rest under the woods!). The SG vary between 1.003-1.005 and the woods never decreased the pH and they are not showing any signs of rotting in low end BW. I don't know why but my GSP didn't like the presence of woods in the hardscape even though the woods didn't change the water parameters.
