I will be hoping that little Duke is in perfect health and having no problems at all!! He's such a cute boy, when are we going to see updated photos of him? I'm sure he's growing in leaps and bounds, isn't he?

Thanks Suzanne, I will be sure to take some pics of him tonight .. he has definitely grown!!! He is now 65lbs at 7 1/2 months

Wow! Duke is definitely going to be a big boy if he's that heavy already! Let's hope you don't have to carry him anywhere. Please let me know how it goes with him going to the vet and the blood in the urine, etc.

Aww I'm sorry about your doggy being ill I'm sure he'll be totally fine though, especially if the vets said that & he's acting fine.
I want to see photo's too!

Today.. after our rabbits being outside for about 4 days (in a run with thick wire) no foxes could of gotten in or anything.. we just can't catch the rabbits after they're outside.. they grunt and charge at you and snap etc..
Anyway yeh after them being outside for 4 days, my grandad came round to cut the grass & moved the run... the rabbits have burrowed into the ground, a huge tunnel about 3 foot long haha... they where trying to escape
& yesterday we took 2 of our indoor cats outside, 1 in a harness because she runs and obviously we don't want to lose her, and the other we follow about because hes so slow and doesn't run (although it seriously freaks me out I wish they'd put one on him too) but when we brought them back inside the other cat who is usually the biggest softy ever.. started hissing and pawing them and running around crazy as if something bad had happened.
I knew he hated it outside but jeez, he even hates the others going outside too
We are suppose to be getting a sort of wire conservatory made for the cats to get some fresh air in, but so they cant get out of it.. and I don't know if thats a good idea now honestly.
And we also found out that one of the cats we took outside has seriously bad hayfever.. he kept sneezing everytime he sniffed something. Poor thing he has so many things wrong with him.

awe! That's so cute that the bunnies have a run like that. We had a bunny once, I loved that little guy. My daughter didn't understand how to let him just hang out, though. As he got bigger all she wanted to do was hold him when we let him out - and not let him run and get exercise. I'd let him out in the middle of the night and we had our own little games - but that didn't happen often enough to make me feel it was fair to him. I found him a new home though, and he's happier now.

My parents have a cat that sneezes all of the time. There's no time of year that makes it worse for him though, he was a stray that my dad found out in a big rain puddle crying. They thought he was sick, and got him all kinds of meds- but it never stopped. It's been almost 5 years, and nothing has changed. He's a great, loveable, funny, handsome, fat cat... I just wish he wouldn't sneeze

Awww... I love bunnies, we actually bought 3, one multicoloured, one brown and one white ... the white one called Precious was SO fluffy and so sweet. She would lick your fingers or face or wherever she got near, she'd come to you etc... and was 100% the nicest bunny I'd ever had, then one day she just got really ill... we took her to the vet and he was so horrible & did nothing.. he just didnt care. Then she died the next day she was only a few months old.. our whole family including my dad cried for about 4 days, then we got my dad another bunny called Button who sat on his shoulder everynight... about a week later he got really ill too, again the vet did nothing and my dad stayed up 24/7 .. we did shifts of syringe feeding him to try keep him alive, he got totally better and then one day we just found he'd died in the night

Now we have a little grave in our garden with a fairy holding a bunny that is solar powered & a ornament and white roses etc >_<
and that's why we got the cats to cheer us up a bit and have something that would hopefully live a lot longer.
We was only suppose to be getting 1 for me, but then a woman phoned saying someone had dropped out of buying the kitten we really wanted in the first place.
So we went and bought her straight away for my dad for his birthday... I still had mine reserved so we ended up getting him too, then he got really ill and my dad made the woman give us our money back because I just don't think he was going to make it and he was about £500 or something which was sad but he just took him I didnt have much choice.. then I chose another one and the woman kept swapping saying I couldn't have that one I had to have this one etc etc blah blah (she was annoying) anyway I ended up with the cutest one & we saw her others in a cat show.. they're no where near as cute or loving, so I was like ha.. serves you right for messing me about haha. She wouldnt even let me see him before buying him anyway.. then my mum felt left out because me and my dad had a kitten and she didnt, so we found a cute funny ginger one for her...
He got brought here with cat flu & ended up giving it to my kitten, so now they'll both have it forever & he also has other things like conjunctivitis that won't go away etc.. it's a shame for him he's always being put on new tablets and drops and creams.
(sorry that was like a life story)

That's sweet you found your bunny a new home, I'm sure you looked after him great though.. I bet he loved the attention from your little girl haha

ya the only bunny I ever had was one my dog caught. Put it in a old fish tank for the night(was like 2am) next morning it was stiff. Felt bad for it

News on Duke, took him to the vet, he peed while we were there and he still had blood in his urine, but at least the vet got to see what I was talking about. His stitches are fine, his scrodum, and bladder is bruised because he's been so active.. poor guy just wants to play all the time, which I don't blame him! We got some antibiotics in case it is an infection from the surgery. When we got him home he was acting very strange, he vomitted, then I gave him his meds, and he wouldn't eat his dinner, and he vomitted again , he ended up eating all his food before bedtime, he did eventually pee normally as well, this morning there was a little bit of blood in his urine, and then a lot of blood again. He is eating normally now, and we're still continuing with the treatment, and if he is not better in 5 days, another trip to the vet!

Rabbits should live a long time with proper care (I think the average is around 10-12 years though we know of some who have lived longer than that). Have you heard of pasteurella? It can kill very quickly when it goes septicemic and rabbits most often catch it outside. Kyle lost one of his rabbits to it. She was a little gassy one night so we medicated her and she got better. Woke up the next morning and she was huddled in a ball. Immediately took her to the vet and he did all he could but she died a few hours later. Necropsy showed signs of septicemic pasteurella. As far as I remember her only symptom was occasionally not using the litter box but she had done that since before he adopted them.

The rabbit she was bonded to is about 9 years old now and going strong. Not a single problem other than that he goes into stasis every spring. Immediate medication and force feeding has gotten him through it the past few years. My rabbit is about 5/6 years old and she'll live forever because she's evil

If your rabbits aren't living long then there's probably a serious management error(s). If you find out what it is then your current ones should live longer There's no natural reason for them not to live a long healthy life. I'd be happy to try and help if you haven't figured it out yet

The other 2 are about 2 years old or something now, they're totally fine, the first one who died had serious diarrhoea which is why she died, but it was like water & jelly goo stuff.. I can't even explain it, she didn't get veggies which could of caused it, she lived inside in a 6 foot cage and she didn't have any internal parasites apparently.. but the shop said that loads of people had said their rabbits from that litter had died too so it was probably just a "bad litter".. I have no idea, and the second one who died had a bone problem according to the vet, he was the runt and suddenly one day couldn't stand up or walk or move at all because his bones where so weak apparently so we had to give him food and water and potasium (from bananas) to try make him stronger ..he got better and could walk again and then died the next day.

Dont worry I've had loads of rabbits, 4 still live at my grans which are about 11 years old now it was just these two sadly

I'm guessing so, I think the second one did for sure.. he was SO tiny it was untrue, you could fit him in the palm of your hand & still have space left.. he would never run when we got him either like the others did, he was very slow and wobbly.
The first one.. I really don't know what happened she was perfectly fine, then ill within hours even though nothing had changed.

Hehe. Those are some lucky bunnies. We use those grids too for our cages too. I don't think we have any pictures but each one is 4 stories and then they have a pen out front. The rabbits live side by side but are kept apart as mine is evil.
