Puffer eating sand

Post by Bizbomb »

I had been a little concerned about my 4" Fahaka because his belly always looks full. After observing him for a few weeks I have noticed that he is eating sand and passing it through his system; only to eat more sand (pool filter sand). I was wondering if anyone else has observed this behavior or could foresee any possible health problems.

I know some puffers eat small stones. Here's a topic about the same thing.
