I know how much to add and everything but i read an article that said not to add salt directly to tank so do i add to filter? and also I have puffers in tank so do i need to move them or can they be in tank when i add marine salt? i'm only adding a lil...just a small transition step. thnx, cat

Completely dissolve the salt in water is what I do/reccommend. Then pour it slowly into your filter and let it distribute it. Dont raise the salinity in the tank more than .002 per week. Just as you said, a little at a time.
