Flatback hex lighting sugg?

Ok so i have a 36'' long flatback hex tank and was wandering what kind of HO lighting would actually work on such a tank. Here is a above view of the tank to give an idea of why im asking what seems like a silly question.

The reason im asking is because at the ends there is only about 7 inches for the stands to sit and its that will put the light at the very back of the tank.

Also im finding it extremely difficult to find a glass hood for this tank does anyone know of a place that will be a good place to look?

I am considering having one made for my hex tank. Glass is cheap and most towns have a local glass shop. Foster and Smith sell glass canopy hinges, handles and the rear block plates made by All-Glass. Just give the glass shop the measurements and tell them where to cut it in half, then simply order your hinge and silicone it between the two halves. You will also want to have a piece cut off the back to make room for equipment and wires to pass through if needed. Just have them use 1/8 or 3/16 inch glass. You can order parts for either thickness.

Thnx im going to see if my LFS can do it for me if i cant find a premade one since they make aquariums but i would rather find a cheap premade one online.

Some 36" T5s in the back and maybe a 24" in the front would work. A single MH pendant as JP point out would also work.

I dont want to go with MH cause the most i will have in it is macro algea while it will be sw and then its going back to freshwater (i will dabble with a planted dp tank.) So i guess i will go with a 36" PC they are cheap on ebay. I was just worried that the front of the tank wouldnt get enough light (maybe worrying over nothing i guess.)
