2 Males : 1 Female DP's

Post by kass »

I have finally been able to sex my DPs, and have found that I have 2 males and 1 female. I was wondering if anybody has ever experienced problems with having an "unpreferred" ratio? I have noticed that they are chasing each other around, trying to nip, a lot now, the female equally participates in this and there is definitely a dominant male.

Yup, I had to separate and regroup mine. But strangely enough the segregated males did not squabble among themselves. As with some Cichlids, an all-male tank was fine.

If I were to separate/ regroup would 1 male 1 female be OK. When would be a good time to regroup/ separate, I dont wait until one has been severely injured.
