How to make sure my puffers share?

i just got 3 south american puffers and i've been feeding them snails. but how do i make sure each one of them eats and one of them dosesnt just go after all the snails i put in?

also one more question... how often do i need to clean up the snail shells off the bottom?

I do not know about SAP's

But I am sure you would have a hard time making any puffers share..

If you have whole shells on the gravel-that might mean they are sucking out the snail and not crushing the shell with their teeth..you could try feeding smaller snails.

However, for puffs-vacuuming is something you should do often!

I do it every day after feeding.

Try putting food in different areas of tank.

I put them in different areas of the tank and scoop out all the left overs as I feed snails, crill, and what not and they always leave alot left over, especially with crill. The remains will send your nitrite and nitrate real high if not taken out every day. I also always feed them right before a water change.
