fangs with gsp
Hey guys.. Just decided due to lack of room in my other tanks, put my new fangs puffer in with my two gsp's. I have been watching them closely to make sure they would get along and to my suprise.. The baby gsp picks on the fangs puff! I was wondering if anyone has any experences? the tank is fresh water to slight brackish.. 55 gal, well planted. My four inch gsp doesnt seem to mind the fangs at all but the 1.5 inch chases every time there is food in the tank? I dont really have anywhere else to put the fangs right now other then my 29 gal. fw hospital tank.. Has anyone had any experinse with mixing the two??

Put your fangs in your 29 and away from your brackish tank. That 29 if its fully cycled should work fine concidering in the pufferpedia there min is 20. You will just have to get another hospital tank in the future.
What sg is your GSP tank? Reason being a 4 inch GSP should be in a higher sg then fw-slightly bw.

These two puffers require different environments so experiences of mixing them are only going to be through lack of information. Put the Fangs in the Hospital tank in freshwater.

I agree 100%. The Fangs is strictly FW & the GSPs require very high salinity.
Also, as soon as the puffers adjust to their environment (picking territories), they will start fighting & will fight to the death.

Yes, despite the fact that one is a freshwater puffer and the GSP's are brackish, I would also say that I believe once that Fang's is older, he will not be tolerating those GSP puffers and I would not like to see what might happen. Please move the Fang's out and put him in a freshwater tank.
