hahaha I got one of 'those' tattoos... not a death smokes skull or anything - it's a jester, holding marienette strings. I was unsure what I wanted the strings to attach to, as the image came from a logo on a band cd case. I wasn't hip on getting the band's NAME branded on me, and I never got it finished. To this day, people ask, "is that a SPIDER?" ugh. It's on my right ankle, fabulous.

I have one of "those" tattoo's as well. lol, it's a skull with a lilly.. on my middle upper back.. I have no idea what I was thinking. It's just the outline, and I haven't gotten it coloured in because I'd like to have it covered up with something a lot nicer

no skulls but i have a regret on my upper back, would love to get it covered but dont think it would be easy.

I want to get mine covered as well, but that means something bigger - and darker. It's already a lot of black work, and although it already looks... I'll say it - trashy - I don't want to end up with something even worse.

I have a butterfly on my upper back, i don't want it covered but i'd like it modified to personalise it, because unlike my scorpion that i designed myself, i just picked the butterfly out of a mag and have seen it on 3 other people since i had it done! D'oh!

It is often better to recolor or rework a tatt than try to cover it.

You guys look really happy together! How long have you been married? You lived in Korea? I talk to a gal in Korea all the time. She's really cute. I stopped over in Seoul on my way to the Philippines last year. Their food was awful!

Awww, thanks, we are quite happy, yes
We are in many ways polar opposites personality-wise, but united on the things that matter.
Will be celebrating our 4th wedding anniversary on Aug. 5 by going to our first Jazz festival
My husband lived in Korea for 4 years as he was on full scholarship to one of the "American-style" universities there.
We met about two years into his studies and figured it would be foolish for him to give up his scholarship, so we got married and I moved there.
I also attended the university and then transferred my credits back here when he graduated.
When we were in Korea we got very homesick at times, especially because of the language barrier (we were in a small "country" town where few spoke English).
However, after a few months of being back in the States we started missing our life there, especially the food! Yeah, the food is a trip when you first get there until you learn what is good and what isn't. But seriously, all in all, I am excited that our new place in MI has a Korean restaurant right across the street! It is an acquired taste I guess But no, I still don't like kimchi!
Anyway, that is a short bit of our story....

So how did you guys meet? I don't think couples should be the same halves of a whole, so to speak. I do not believe in "soulmates" & wouldn't want to be with mine, 24/7. IDK, the food offered in that airport all looked like it was made of rubber! Very chewy...

Yeah, I'm with you, in fact I think the whole soul mate thing is a bit of myth, designed to make people feel unfulfilled in their current commitment.
We actually met online. I was surfing an international Christian community website set up for meeting penpals, friends and potential mates. I was just clicking on the different countries and when I came to Korea, his picture was the one that stuck out (for obvious reasons, lol!) I was intrigued by his profile so I sent him a message. I'd been burnt just before by an online dating experience so wasn't really interested in dating right away, in fact it took me several weeks (or a month?) to give him my phone number. Anyway, the rest is history! Some people criticized us for getting married so young (I was 21) but I like to point out that getting married when you are much older and set in your ways isn't exactly a cake walk either!
Anyway, my hubby, Eric, was not raised with indoor pets and is most likely allergic to cat dander, while I had just about every pet you can think of when I was growing up and my room was nicknamed "the zoo" --- in short, fish-keeping, in its varying forms, is our current compromise!

Oh and about Korean food...sounds like you had the stuff that I tried one time and never again...either acorn jelly (looks like jello made of creamed peas and has very little flavor) or some kind of rice cakes (very chewy and quite bland to the Western palate). My favorites are kalbi (bbq pork or beef short ribs wrapped in lettuce and topped with sauce and other traditional condiments) bibimbab (steamed rice topped with chopped vegetables, sprouts, a little ground pork, a fried egg and pepper sauce), bulgogi (sweet beef dish served on rice or glass noodles) or jajjangmyeon (black bean sauce with beef, small diced potatoes and peas served over thick noodles or rice). If you have the occasion to go to a Korean restaurant, I'd recommend trying any of the above, especially the bulgogi as it is said to be the most "foreigner-friendly" Korean dish.

Yeah, I didn't get past the airport food. We were stuck there for about 5 hours on a layover. Your dishes sound more palatable, although I haven't eaten mammals in over 4 years.

Ooops, my bad, well, the thought did cross my mind that you might be vegetarian/vegan. Good thing is, bibimbab and jajjangmyeon can be veg friendly They would taste just as good without the "mammal" element I've often considered going veg but my hubby would protest and I am not up to the challenge of shopping and cooking for two different diets right now.
