Should I go to the salty side?

Well considering I downsized on tanks, I have just brought this beauty:


Which came with loads of stuff including a protein skimmer, etc. So the question is I brought this with the intention of Figure 8 puffers but then as I have boringly brought up a while back Alex loves marine..this could be the opportunity, considering we have a RO unit as well sitting about. I need a little help in deciding, should we..

Either
1) Start the salty side with a couple of figure 8 puffers though this would mean no marine tank for a long time..
OR
2) Go for it to the complete salty side. I will say my love is puffers so would love some sort of toby or perhaps a valentini, how would this 110-120litre do with such a puffer and what other inhabitants would be good? Of course I need to read up, but a heads up would be great. Heading to puffpedia now.

I guess my main concerns are taking the initial step and how hard marine tanks are to look after. Also does it add a great deal to the electricity? I have a huge box with bits and pieces in so now need to figure out what is the filter, skimmer and other.. A new tank so exciting.

For a main checklist still to get:
Refractometer
Marine Salt Mix
More coral sand
Live Rock
Fish

Talking about being exited - ive not long brought moob home and have just had a friend bring me round a fluval fx5 - second hand but it should do the job

Have uploaded piccy That is excellent autophoto, I have heard the fx series are brill! I would be excited too lol.

I think my main concern is the upkeep of the marine side of that tank as partner has admitted he isnt into it as much as me at the moment and will help but would be all mine..hmmm maybe F8s would be better..

Skimmer. That tank is a beaut! At ~30g, you would only be able to keep a single toby in there.

sweet tank - i called into one of the lfs a few months back whilst i was on works time - and they had a trigon there i think 350L and only wanted 150 for it - i went back the next day as i didnt have a deposit and it had sold 5 mins before i got there -

Thanks for that Pufferpunk - I suddenly realised that when saw in puffpedia at least 95 litres each, I am leaning towards F8s, as considering alll options, lurker may be wasted, and brackish might be great introdution to and get me going..though the tobies are gorgeous little pufflets..time to think again. Cant believe how lucky I got this tank for £75, he delivered and massive box of equipment, I love a bargain

go full marine for sure, easier to maintain imo and the species are so much more beautiful.

I would say definitely marine, but make sure you budget for the live rock...

hmmmm not sure the budget can stretch to the marine after looking in to it, so may have to upgrade later at somepoint, or just get rid of a sofa Believe me lionfish are awesome and top of the list, but too scary for a first purchase! Thanks so much peeps xx
