MORE STRESS

Post by MrHumphries »

Hey all,

I need some good thoughts and prayers, sunday my little girl sophia spent all day in emerg, cause for three weeks she has been vomitting on and off.
and we havn't been able to stop it, they put her on an IV and did an enima(SP?) cause they did xrays and found she was very blocked, she seemed to stop
vomitting so they sent her home, well she slept for a very long time, but then woke up vomitting again, so last night at 11 pm i dropped them off at emerg
and after 7 hours in emerg on an IV again, they have decided to admit her, They have no idea what is wrong with her, they have to do some blood tests to help figure it out.

I am so worried about her, she is such a tiny thing :( I need to be home so i can be here for my older daughter and my other 4 old twin.

So any prayers or good thoughts would be very appreciated, and this is the stress I have been talking about. Just to much to bare *sigh* what a jona year.

Thanks everyone

Don

Oh my, it sounds like what happened to my daughter. They called it an ilius (ill-ee-us) (generic name for intestinal blockage) but on her, a section of the bowels had fallen asleep on her. It's horrible to see your little one in the hospital and helpless like that, my daughter was admitted for ten long days. No eating, no drinking for 5 days - day 6 she had broth, juice and popsicles (she was happy about the popsicles, all she could eat.) and Day 7 real food, and had to stay until she had a bowel movent :(

I really hope the doctors can figure out what is going on, please do keep us updated. <3 My heart, prayers, well wishes - everything I've got is going out to you and your family now. If only there was more I could do for you and your family from here :(

Im an xray tech at a local ER, and the only thing that bothers me anymore is kids that are hurt(not from doing stupid things). Do they know where the blockage is at?

Oh, that does sound like a really stressful situation, I bet that it's hard to remain calm but you've got to try.

Best wishes to your family and get well soon to your daughter.

What a shame. It's so hard to see children hurting, they just can't understand as well as we can. I'm sure they'll find the problem and she'll pull through alright. She's absolutely adorable, they both are just precious.

Best of luck to you and your family! You're all in our thoughts over here. If you need someone to talk to privately please send me a PM. I've had my share of health problems as a pediatric patient (older than her but still been there done that). If it turns out to be something a little more complicated or rare get her into SickKids, it's a wonderful facility and well worth the drive/stay.

Hey all,

Thanks so much for all the well wishes and prayers, I just got home from spending the night in the hospital, They installed an NG tube, and pumped something called preg into here, This has loosen things up and she has been filling dipes like there's no tomrrow. my wife has taken over, she is doing better
they think she should be off the NG tube tonight, and can start eating real food. and yes its very stressful, and very very hard to see my little girl laying there
with all these tubes in her. breaks my heart just typing it.. :(

we think the reason for the blockage is because she has been vomiting on and off for 3 months due to sickness she was picking up at the daycare, we pulled them out, and she contiuned to vomit for 3 weeks after, then on sunday she stopped eating and drinking. and the docs think it was because she is blocked, and they were right :P

Thanks again for all the PMs and wishes, I will keep you posted as to what's happening, now I am off to get some much needed sleep :missyou:

Thanks PP,

Well she is home, 6 days in the hospital :P, she is a bit weak still, but has stopped vomiting, and is holding food and drink down. So this is a HUGE step to her mending :) Thanks for all the prayers and thoughts :) I am so glad to have my baby back home :)
