can I put a puffer with my fire mouth cichlid?

i have a fire mouth cichlid that is approx. five inches, i would like to get a puffer (gsp or fig-8) to add to the tank with him... would it be safe? :D

No, although the firemouth is a rather timid cichlid its the water chemistry that stops them from liveing together the fig8 and GSP require brackish water. I know that the firemouth can tolerate a little marine salt but no more then 1.002.
