Pale DP

So I've had my DP Zippy for about a month now and I didn't realize how pale she was until I got her a friend Dottie. I know pale-ness in DP can be a sign of stress and illness. But in my case I think that is just the actual color of my DP. I don't know... She has a very curious personality very outgoing, loves feeding time, and doesn't really show any signs of illness or stress. At first she used to curl her tail in a lot but she hardly even does that anymore. She even fans out her back fin all the time to me so I don't think she is sick but I'm new to this. Any input?? Natural color?? Here is a pic she is the lower fish you can hardly see the fish on the top is the new one Dottie.

Well, I have three DPs and 2f and 1m. The male is more yellowish and have very pale spots. The two female are more robust looking and bright black spots.

Maybe it is just difference in sex???

Ooo that would be cool....maybe if I have a boy and and girl they can b=make babies that would be cute....

Some puffers are just paler than others. Just like they all have different spot patterns. The best way to sex dwarf puffers is by the wrinkles around their eyes. If they have wrinkles they are probably males. Young ones will not have them yet though. Another way is when the puffers are being aggressive or courting the male will have a brown stripe on his tummy.

They have been known to breed easily(as far as most puffers go at least) in captivity . Mine are to young right now but I hope to have some puffer fry in another 6 months.
