managed to get my fahaka mad

My fahaka, who is now measuring at 7" (everyone who has seen the growth are shocked) is officially pissed.

My buddy, who had purchased a red wolf fish (Erythrinus sp. peru) asked me to hang on to it for a couple of days while he shifted things around to make room.
He also provided me with an eggcrate sheet (which I didn't use at first) to use as a divider so I didn't mind at all.
After all, I'm a huge fan of the wolves.

The wolf is about 6", and are rather aggressive so I thought perhaps it would negate each others' aggression.
I was dead wrong, The wolf was chased to the top of the spray bar, and after one night it had a huge part of its tail missing.
So it was time to put the divider in, which the puff didn't appreciate. He was jumping out of the water to express how he felt about the divider.
Came water change time, I honestly thought I was going to get my face bitten off a few times due to a hysterically aggressive puffer.

It was now time to pull the wolf out and put it in a critter cage for the remaining additional day.

My 90G is now back to it was. My puffer hasn't eaten in 2 days and has been facing the back of the tank buried in sand.
It's sort of amusing how he alternates sides from one side of the tank to the other, but he's in the exact same position.

The red wolf lived in a critter cage for one night in my bathroom before returning to its owner. It had scars on its head and lips from banging on the wall.

Moral is the story: I wouldn't put anything in with a fahaka besides dithers.
Especially if you cherish your fahaka, I felt really bad for mine the whole time the wolf was in, and especially when I had to put in dividers.
Hopefully mine comes around from his little peeved phase, but I wish it never happened because we all know, they are smart fish that are capable of thinking and remembering.

Wow, I have to say - not really funny, but it still made me laugh. Like PP said, it's cute how the Fahaka was like, UGH!!! INTRUUUDER! It really sucks he's still mad at you, what are his favorite treats? Maybe if he gets some extra quiet time/down time - then butter him up with an extra special treat? Just a thought... Poor wolf, lol... he was probably scared to bits. Maybe make sure to tell him it will never happen again, and maybe he'll forgive you!

You'd just better hope that fish was healthy and didn't pass on any diseases to your puffer!

Have you read RTR's story about trying to breed Fahakas? I do believe he said his male was the only fish he's ever owned that he was actually scared of!
