Porcupine Puffer needs 75 gallons
This site which I've found random useful information on with pets has me kind of disgusted. Saying a porcupine puffer can only get up to 11 inches and need minimum 75 gallons. I feel horridly sorry for anyone that says oh cool I have a 75 gallon tank, I can get a puffer. I wish some people would correct information when it comes to actual fish with as much personality as a real dog. I can understand not caring to much about what information you give for a neon tetra or goldfish but this is very much a gross understatement.

I think you will find there's many sites out there with bad information about puffers. Shame that there's more bad information than good information, but that's the reality of how it is.

Re: Porcupine Puffer needs 75 gallons
a friend of mine told me recently about a search engine thats basically supposed to one up google. you would type in a question, it searches the internet gathering information for you and provides one solid answer. i was told about this a couple weeks ago and it was only a BETA so there wasnt a solid version of it yet. sounds like a good idea if it can actually provide the right information from reliable forums like this one

Re: Porcupine Puffer needs 75 gallons
haha no the way he described it was you would say "how big does a porcupine puffer get?" hit search and within a couple seconds or a minute it would come up with one solid answer like(hopefully if it gets legit information) "gets 19" max, needs blah blah blah" and hopefully resources where they get the good information with links. if perfected the only way you would get results with people selling porks is if you typed "how can i purchase a porcupine puffer" or something of that nature where your intent in the question is to purchase

i would think with a search engine like that you would need it to research into more like online encyclopedias

Re: Porcupine Puffer needs 75 gallons
Have you searched google for "how big does a porcupine puffer get?" The first line says "Porcupine puffers get closer to 18"." A new search engine is going to need to do more than that to take google.

Re: Porcupine Puffer needs 75 gallons
yeah definitely would have to be a crazy search engine. google already has the upper hand just with how popular it is. im not saying it will take over google as the better search engine, im just saying what my friend read about, its supposed to be better... whether it is or not is a whole different story. when you get more in depth like that, theres a ton more room for error or little bugs that wouldnt let it work perfectly. plus all the misleading information thats out there on the web, i just dont think it would be too possible for a search engine to go over searched information from the user and come up with definitive answers for questions you type injdak wrote:Have you searched google for "how big does a porcupine puffer get?"
