So, I had bought a fiddler crab, and was unaware he would be like an escapee convict - looking for any and every way out of the tank. I managed to keep him in for the most part... All day today I hovered around the tank, hoping to finally catch my fahaka Vicious tearing him apart. I did get a few videos that I hope to edit and make a little video out of (I'll share it too! If I can figure this thing out...) where he got a few good bites and nips in. Vicious was getting serious, and all business... The poor crab was down 3 legs and 1 eye... Then I found him, he fell off of a rock and laid on his back and died. My puffer no longer interested, so I flushed him.
I don't think I'm up for getting another one for some time, if ever... but I loved watching him hunt. Maybe once he gets bigger (the crab was almost the same size as him...) We'll see. Just had to share, I felt like I went to a superbowl game to witness fooseball. =/ Entertaining but not fulfilling.
Disappointed with my Fiddler.

I know it is a cycle of life thing..and it is puffers before everything else..
But, I have to say...awe poor fiddler crab! I have one and I think they are adorable
Don't be offended though..I have used live foods with my puffs...

Re: Disappointed with my Fiddler.
Oh he was adorable when he wasn't an absolute pain in my butt. Very cute, and personable.
However, it was not his purpose in my tank LOL... It was to be sustanance for my 2nd child. He failed.
Although, please don't think I'm a monster, I hate that he was tortured. I really would have rather seen the puffer kill him quickly rather than peck him to stressed and injured death, and then to waste. If I could house him properly, and him not escape (to the outside of the tank, or into the filter in fear of crunching, the hardest think to keep him out of I swear...) I would love to own one, and put it in my daughter's room.
However, I have no such accommodations.
And is there a spell check on here? I struggled with accommodations, and finally got it right. Screw sustanance. I know it's wrong and I give up. It tells me it's wrong in my browser, but no easy spell check? (haha, or am I just blind?)
