There is not really a question of "if" he gets aggressive and territorial but more of a "when". Nick is 100% correct, as he hits his sexual maturity he really won't tolerate tankmates. Puffers by nature are solitary fish with the exception being SAP's and are generally happier being singletons in a good size tank.

If I did a fast change to saltwater, would you recommend getting some saltwater from a lfs to get the good bacteria going or would you say that's too risky of bringing in parasites etc?

There is no bacteria in the water column. You could add Bio-Spira but you're still taking a big chance. What's the rush?

Other thing about Manderins/scooter blennies--they require a minimum of 90g & a large, established refugium for growing pods in. They eat their weight in live pods daily.

Hi ive not long got a GSP and im doing the same thing converting to marine at .002 a week at ive called him Ralph also. what a coincedence, hes on his own in a 240liter aquarium im wondering what tank mates can go with him when its marine good luck with yours.

Depends. Mostly shorter finned fish that are as aggressive as a GSP. And NO long fins or slower moving fish. I keep blu Damsels, Blu Chromis, Maroon Clownfish, Foxfish with my marine GSP. Just focus on getting thru the SG changes then do some research on fish options and their care prior to buying them. U basically want fast and somewhat aggressive fish so if the GSP makes an attempt to nip someone they can defend themselves. And hopefully he changes his mind about doing that again.

Also if your adding tankmates keep in mind there adult sizes so you wont end up having a heavily overstocked aquarium.
