tank location
I just recently had to relocate my tank into my bedroom. DO you think this will be okay for the puffers? When its their night time, my lights are still on, people moving back and fourth, tv be on...is this a distraction to them?

Re: tank location
I have a tank in my living room-the tv room..and some in the room across from that room..
During the day there is not much going on, so they sleep and just swim around..
Then I feed then late in the afternoon and they become more active...then the tv and music come on in that room until about 11 pm.
They do not seem bothered..I only turn the lights on for feeding and a couple hours after ..
They actually seem to like watching us move around..
But, I will say that if I turn the music up too loud..or if I am playing something like Disturbed or Rob Zombie..they swim a bit frantic LOL."Turn That Crazy Stuff Down Mommy, Put on Some Kenny G or Sade!"
I think they your puffs would be fine, I guess it depends on their schedule..but I think they would really enjoy the opportunity to watch you

Ok i was just worried. They went from a location that had no activity whatsoever to my room that gets light at odd hours from my room and the tv.purplecandle wrote:I have a tank in my living room-the tv room..and some in the room across from that room..

Re: tank location
Just something I found out recently. I cannot turn my puffers hood light on or room light on without first turning on a light outside the room or it startles him and he puffs

Re: tank location
yeah it was tricky. First night I turned on hood light at night he puffed. so I tried bedroom light and he puffed. So Now I just turn on hall light and then walk into room and make sure he wakes up and starts looking around before I turn on bedroom light. As he gets older it might not bother him as much and he may just still be getting used to his new tank.asianpuffer wrote:Hmm maybe ill start turning on the bathroom light first before turning on my bedroom light.Ajepalmer wrote:Just something I found out recently. Re: tank location
he is very very submissive. I have a tiny clarky in there for company and as my wifes fish and he just lets the clarky run into him all day long without swimming away. he just gets bumped around while hovering. He also won't eat my snails or hermit crabs. He loves blood worms and ghost shrimp thoughpurplecandle wrote:I agree they can be startled..

Re: tank location
My puffers room is dark in the evenings but he can see the tv thru the doorway and he seems to be looking in that direction. I'm sure he's not watching tv. He must like light because he is on the other side of the tank in the mornings where the sunlight comes thru the window before his lights come on.

Re: tank location
ever sine i moved my sap tank into my bedroom, the puffers only stay on the side closet to my bed so when im watching tv or reading , the are right next to me swimming. The opposite side is now a deadzone
