Gsp's wont eat gost shrimp...

ok im not saying they wont eat them they just cant catch them....... any one ever have troubles with this???
oww and my moray wont eat them at all. im just wondering if any one else had this issue?

Whenever I put ghost shrimp in with my puffers I end up watching them chase the shrimp around for about ten minutes then I get bored and leave. Every time i come back after a few hours the shrimp are always gone (or i just can't find the little buggers!)

haha yea i just looked alot of the shrimp are gone but i got about a dozen so its alot of shrimp.

I have my tank on the kitchen counter, it's fun to watch my Fahaka (still a baby yet) chase them all over. I thought he was eating them all, but out of six, I found three that had jumped out of the tank, and behind it... crispy crunchy dead.

I baught 10 ghost shrimp for my gsp to play with and about 3 days later i assumed they were all gone. When my tank sprung a leak and i had to take everything out to reseal it i had 8 ghost shrimp. I remember seeing 2 in my filter when i did a tank change but assumed those were the only ones that didnt get eaten. They are really good hide and seek little buggers. So even if you think they all got eaten one day i bed there are a few that made it and will never come out of hideing with the lights on.

At first my F8's wouldnt chase them. Too quick I guess. After feeding them a few times they are A LOT more into it. I normally hold them with reptile feeding tongs and let them just come up and take them. No chase required. If you feel like making them work just turn em loose. I wont do more than two though. One a piece is quite enough for them or they are way too bloated. Watching them hunt is very cool too.

I put 10 in with my figure 8 and didn't see many left and assumed he got most of them; and watching them scurry for dear life when ever they saw him I figured I knew why there were after seeing their friends munched on. But when I went to do a water change and turned off all the equipment in the tank I saw 7 of them out. They are good hiders and FAST!

When I first had Figure 8s, I had put in a couple ghost shrimp. They completely ignored them for about 2 months, and then suddenly one day, he (by that time was down to 1 F8) realized they were food and ate 1-1/2. He was so huge that I fished out the remaining bits so he wouldn't hurt himself.

I switched to cherry shrimp for the ease of breeding and more color in hopes of him noticing them more quickly, but I never saw him eat those. I would see the cherries in the fake plants occasionally, but they were so small that I'm not completely sure if he ate them or they were just really good at hiding or got sucked into the filter. I just feed snails and a variety frozen goodies now since I don't have the room for a separate breeding tank. The snails do much better at breeding in a community tank, and I can have them in a tub pond over the summer too.

I put 4 ghost shrimp in with my juvenile gsp almost 3 weeks ago, and so far, there are at least 3 shrimp left. My gsp is about 1.5 inches long, and the shrimp are almost as long, tho much more skinny, of course. Not sure how long they'll cohabitate if Puff doesn't eat them soon... the salinity is at 1.015sg, and I'm not sure whether the shrimp can comfortably live at that sg for long.

It cracks me up to see the shrimp pick up a scrap that the puff dropped, then see the puff chase the shrimp to get it back. Keeps the puff entertained, so that's good.

I have 2 ghost shrimp, about 2" now, that I put in there about 2 months ago. They never got eaten, and are now actually breeding in the tank. They actually hitch hike on the eels around the tank, during feeding time, I have tried to get pictures but they never come out. They also have a crayfish tankmate. My fish and eel only eat frozen shrimp, which is not good, but I do soak them in vitachem at every feeding.

Funny enough the F8 will no longer eat his ghost shrimp tank mates nor will he eat the Gold Mystery Snails in there (he's actually afraid of them it seems). Although my little baby Fugu GSP in his tank will destroy a ghost shrimp. But now each of them won't eat anything but frozen shrimp, frozen blood worms or freeze dried krill.
