hey what kinda water kit should i get if i start up the BW tank? saltwater test kit or freshwater test kit?

Low end brackish or high? Look around a bit. Some test kits have both in them and some of the tests are the same anyway.

yeah avoid the temptation of getting the quick dip saltwater/freshwater test strips thinking that they will obviously work for brackish also. I use the api FW one and like to think that I get good readings from it on my low end BW.
