Puffer Died last Night

Post by Biggpuff »

My Puffer died last night and i don't know why. He was acting like he was blocked up and he did not eat his fish from the morning so i put in some epsom salt to help him pass this. He went to the bathroom its was stuff that i had never seen before come out of him it was like golden eggs. And then this morning when i woke up he was dead. He had a couple of bulges on the side of his stomach like his insides ruptured. I have had him for about a year and he is about 13" long. If anyone knows what might have happend or what i did wrong i would love to know.

does sound like IP's
feeder fish arent meant to be fed, can carry parasites, and would needed a more varied diet than mussels.

My guess is the diet of feeders killed him:

we ordered a bigger tank for him last week, we should have it in a couple days so we are just going to get another fahaka, I was going to feed him blood worms for awhile till he gets older do you have any other suggestions? Thank you all for your input it really helps.

Puffers need a varied diet. Check out the feeding articles in our Library.
