What about South american puffers? you could get a few in a 55g tank. and you could also have some other tetras. the SAPs will school a bit.
Tanks I currently own:

125g freshwater tank w\ 30g sump, 840gph pump, ocean clear canister filter,
20" fire eel, and Dib the Fahaka

55g freshwater tank w\ Magnum 330 filter
Tigger the South American Puffer

5.5g nano saltwater tank
Clean up crew + coral + a strawberry dottyback

well got my sand washed and down. I started adding water, got about 3/4 full and then remembered that the tile behind the tank(around a fireplace I have no need for) had been replaced and they hadn't put the grout in yet. So now I have a tank 3/4 full that has to be moved so that they can grout behind it.
