Starting out new with GSP's

Post by Bcgirl304 »

Hey guys I am new to the GSP's I have had 2 for a week.. and i am setting up a new 55g Brackish tank next week for these guys.. I have spent some hours online reading and looking at videos of tanks on you tube. I currently have 2. Is there any other fish I can Pair with these guys. I need some tips as i am going out in 2 days to buy everything to set up the tank. Should i use gravel or sand is one better then other. live plants or fake? I know they need tons of hiding places. I thought about getting some fiddler crabs to throw in with them to play with. Please give me some advice they are currently about 2 inches long and fat as bears. Please give me all the ideas and fish i can try to pair with or if any will really do well. Thanks guys!!!!

In a 55 gallon tank, there is no room at all for tankmates. It will be tight for just the two of them. If you want to upgrade to a 75 or a 90, there are a number of salt water fish that are compatible with GSPs, if you want to take the tank marine. Definitely avoid live plants with these guys. Nothing can survive the high levels of salt they need to be healthy. Lots of rock and fake plants the full height of the tank is the ideal way to decorate.
No matter how magnificent your successes or devastating your failures, the worlds' approximately 5 billion impoverished people could not possibly care less.

I thought I'd add that the GSP's will not "play with" the fiddler crabs. The poor crabs will either be tormented by having their legs and claws pulled off, or eaten altogether. I just thought I should point that out. :)

More like trying to keep a chihuahua with a lion.
