It's really not that important knowing what SG they were caught in, as long as we are aware of what SG they do best at in captivity. Most F8s are collected in FW but we know very well, they do best at 1.005 in our tanks.

Exactly. I think I mentioned in another post that full marine vs high brackish isn't just because sometime two years down the road you will actually be up $ saved on salt vs the cost of the skimmer/rock (though that is quite a nice perk) but the ability to skim and use live rock to maintain a consistent higher water quality

also freshwater fish can get a little bit boring in my opinion...

Honestly just about the only FW I like anymore are puffers. Bichirs were cool until I realized they don't move, ever (if well fed) except to shoot to the top and smack into the hood with all the considerable might of their snaky bodies, preferably just as you are drifting off to sleep. Cichilds were cool at first, but I got my fill of them working in the pet store.

Exceptions:
Spotted climbing perch, false leaf fish, leopard Ctenopoma, whatever you want to call them, are pretty awesome. They're like a cross between a betta and a puffer, but less aggressive than either by a long-shot, unless you fit into it's mouth in one bite. Then it's bye bye time.

Apple snails. I really do like apple snails.

Probably a few others I'm forgetting, but no, not many.

lol apple snails are the only exception I can think of besides puffers. They are pretty awesome for being a fresh water snail.

Sadly I went LFS searching for a pocupine fish... I found one store and it was passed away in the back of their tank...

I was looking at saltwater fish selection so I knew where I could go that had a good selection and prices. also was price checking tanks and etc.
