The SAPs don not like crab... the nutters
Do not like Octopus .. buggers
LOVE shrimp
Love Blood worms
Love snails (and I don't have many more)

I'll be trying muscles next.

Should I leave the meat in or take it out?

Yeah, I never did try crab but they wouldn't touch the octopus. They liked the squid though (as long as the pieces were bite size).

For the first time since Oct 09 I had the chance to actually sit down and watch the tank and enjoy it!

My wife was watching some videos and I watched and Fatty the SAP was wandering around the plants hunting the little critters without being harassed by the SAEs. For over an hour I just sat there watching the hunting action. The other 2 SAPs were still in the corner of the tank, but, this one, was captivating.

It would wander in and out of the growth and sometimes it would spot something.. try to get it.. sometimes it would catch something and sometimes it would miss. This was the moment I was waiting 6 months for

The tank is still not perfect. My skimmer still floats and the evap needs to get under control. I also need to get those SAEs out of the tank; but all in all.. I was more than pleased!

My next thought was: I need a bigger tank... something on all 3 walls with a swivel chair

Well Darkstorm would be pleased ... it was THE moment.

I can't say that I've had many (except with the koi), but it was one time I could do nothing and know that my fish were happy.

Just sit back and relax

We are almost there. A little aquascaping, a few tweaks and it will be their perfect world

Some fly river turtles?

Have you thought of having any turtles in your set up or wont it work?

Hey jp congrats on the saps - sorry i havnt been online much guys but have been super busy with work all the time arrgghhh -

on a better note - my fig 8s and dps are doing great and have just picked up 6 saps - i only wanted 4 of them but the shop made me an offer on the remaining two i couldnt refuse - the reason i didnt want them two is that they were looking thinner and smaller than the other ones - hopefully not ips - but only time will tell -

doraemon: for the tank no they won't work, but turtles might be a good idea for the pond I hadn't thought about that.

I almost bought 2 more koi today

I think I am going to put the Angels in one section and that will leave only once section uninhabited. I really want some nice crays in one section that I was reserving for a bichir (but can't have).

I'm trying to get some decent pics but it is very difficult. I did notice a nice little feature on my digi-cam though... I can take continuous snaps and select the best one

It worked with my cat so I'll try the fish next. Still can't figure out the settings on the SLR.
Congrats on your SAPs ... they are a lively little fish. Hell of a lot of energy packed into them and surprisingly fast.

No kidding! Compared to the irrubescos... well... it's night and day. These guys get stuck in the plants and the SAPs plowed through and destroyed the plants. These guys stop moving to sleep but the speed of the movement is WAY slower, I don't think the SAPs could physically move this slow

The irrubescos are getting their own tank, they're munching on the cories.

I love the way the whole setup looks, just seem to flow in to one another so naturally( the aquascapes i mean)
