Feeding my puffers

Post by Marekm2488 »

Hey I have a question, I had my 2 figure eight puffers for about a year now I have been feeding them the wrong thing so I had to trim theit teeth about 1 week ago. I know im soppouse to feed them clams and mussels and other hard shelled foods so I bought some clams and mussels today but they are kind of big even tho they were the smallest I could find in the seafood aisle. My question is how am I soppouse to feed them these foods ? should I crack them and throw the whole clam or mussel in there ? I seriously have no idea how to feed them these foods please help.

I handle these with hammertime. Just smash them with a hammer after thawing. The shell sticks to the meat to some extent, making them have to bite it at least a bit of shell to get to the good stuff.
No matter how magnificent your successes or devastating your failures, the worlds' approximately 5 billion impoverished people could not possibly care less.

For mussels, I just open them a little and they to the rest...mine will scrape their teeth against the shell to get the meat out..and sometimes they will chew the shell

Nick's idea is good too, I just never have a hammer around
