PCs are fine for a beginner tank with just softie corals.

Hmm I think that's what they were under... But say if I did get more advanced I wouldn't need a better light. But I also don't want to have to buy bulbs all the time either. Even thou they stay on don't they lose a bit of it's actual purpose to grow the corals? Like wattage. Or K rating. Whatever that means....

I don't think PC lights are a bad start. I have been running for 4 years now. Mostly soft but few LPS.

Wow nice tank. I have to consider were this tank may be going. Well now I got a nother prob. The one mushroom I had blew away. It's somewhere buried under the live rock in caves I'm sure. I found it there last night. It seems to not want to attach to anything. The rock it was on fell off. I don't have the glue for it either. Will the screw my tank if I can't find it and it dies?

I'm very happy with my new T-5s plus two LED strips. MH are energy hogs, and I just couldn't see laying out that kind of money and then paying thru the nose forever for electric bills, too. I used to have one but no more.
PCs work well for most softies. That's all I had on my 90 until about a month ago, and my softies were overtaking the tank. Now that I'm moving on to SPS I needed the increased PAR but still was able to do it on a budget. Local fish clubs are a wonderful thing if you can find one!

If you can find it again, put it in a small cup with some rubble. It'll attach itself in time. If you don't find it, it might make it'w way back to light again.

2x96watt PC is what you are looking at for a 36" tank. Thats more wattage than a single 150/175watt MH, so no really its not a power hog.
PCs can grow corals just fine, but they will be more colorful under brighter lighting. I had 4x65watt over my 90g for years, but when I added 2x54watt T5 and then finally 6x54watt T5 and removed the PCs the corals really brightened up.
Just giving my opinion of how to save $ and have the best looking tank you can with out having the want to upgrade.

Thx I have that saved on my phone icons. Thats good to know the mushrooms can move. How do you attach them to your overflow to camoflage it?

oh yea the zoas are doing great now they've all opened up now. And look pretty. Can't wait till they start multiplying.

Many corals you can super glue to what ever. GSP is particularly easy to glue. Mushrooms how ever are not, they are too slimy. Use super glue gel, the thicker the better. Xenia and anthela(sp?) are far to slimy and the only way to to allow them to naturally climb up there. Most soft corals that do not form a mat can and will move.
