i think she was being vaguely honest. he had an absess behind his eye. that isnt a come and go kind of thing... she said it happened when he was 4 months old, and now hes 11months old, the time just doesnt match up... and it didnt resurface some time later, it was the very next day... i mean, in reality, it doesnt make me happy that she could have witheld information from me just to persuay me to buy him, but even if i did know prior to getting him, im just not sure i could have walked away from him knowing he was going to die in her inadequate care. i really love this little guy and his eye is actually looking better this morning, not 100%, but there does seem to be improvement. im not worried about the money or anything, the only thing i care about is him getting well, and i think thats true love for an animal. ive got an "emergency vet bill" fund stashed away for all my pets anyway, its no big deal, i just want him to be healthy and happy, thats all i care about.eieio wrote:i don't mean to sound harsh, and i'm sorry for any health issue that any pet hasFlutter wrote:There's just no way of knowing
but i feel like the person that sold this chameleon is being judged unfairly
she volunteered information (& medication!) about a prior health issue that was not evident at the time of sale, but has resurfaced quite some time after it
she didn't have to say anything at all about it, but she did........
she was being honest, up front
at that point, it was up to the buyer to either proceed with the deal knowing this history, or opt out of it........

Re: What happened to you today :)
thank you
picasso is one of my all time fav artists and i like that his colors are so abstract looking XD and that he can kind of "paint" himself different colors.
my other favorite artist (whom i actually like better than picasso) is salvador dali, but that was a little less obvious with the name connection lol
i really am lucky to have him and the extra money spent is worth it to me, as long as he pulls through (regardless of how my friends and my dad say im nuts to go to such great legnths for a lizard lol)

Looks like he gained a lot of weight!
It is absurd to talk of one animal being higher than another. We consider those, when the cerebral structure/intellectual faculties most developed, as highest. A bee doubtless would when the instincts were.

lol, no. when they get defensive, they flare their bodies out to look like leaves and they will move their bodies to look like they are leaves swaying in the wind. he didnt like the camera lol... the first day though, he just didnt care... the day i took the pretty pic, he had a little more fight and spunk in him XD
he got a little more fight in him i think because i had bought him another heater... his basking area was a good 30 degrees UNDER what it should be... it was low 60s and it should be mid to upper 90s EEEEPP!!, the heat and extra misting with water helped with his shed too, you can see in the first pic, he was having some difficulties shedding some of that skin

Looks like all along the shores at the river mouths, LOL. This indicates they are probably MUCH less temperature sensitive than we assume.
And yea, I know it's a nonnative species invasion, but, they're too cute to be mad at for it. It's like cane toads in Australia. Yea, they're not native and such... but they are just TOO cute.
PS - check you PMs, I send you a rather long message.

Re: What happened to you today :)
lesson learned.. never go to bed thinking about puffers.
I dreamed PP started a real life cult of puffer fanatics and was trying to take over the world or something @__@ And a bunch of people from the forum were all living in some giant house with fishtanks everywhere. It was crazy.

Re: What happened to you today :)
I tried to type reply to this and accidentally edited it, and typed my post over yours, sorry Hannah. My eyes are kind of blurry
Trying to restore:
I hate this day.
today I woke up and my smallest puffer was dead of worm. He seemed like he was getting better, but he didn't make it.
Then the large puffers arrived a day late, dead, and it seems like the big tank is leaking.
Edit: The big tank was leaking, so the remaining puffers have been moved back to the 120. I'm going back to bed.
I tried my best to restore your post from memory
How I confused the "edit" and "quote" buttons I don't know, not even the same size

Went to an aggie party last night, that was lots of fun. Never experienced anything like it before
Got home around 1, bed later then that, and woke up at 6
