GSPs like my Uncle

Post by purplecandle »

Well, I went to find thing for my new fiddler crab..and I came across 3 absolutely cute GSPs.

They have some small variations I have never seen. Maybe you guys I have, but I haven't :)

When I saw them they reminded me of my uncle. My 50 year old uncle John has down's syndrome..I am sure you have all seen somebody with down syndrome..

Well, these GSPs's eyes are set different than other GSPs...they seem to have about a 20% reduction in their ability to move their eyes around..almost like fish eyes..instead of protruding eyes. This strange eye setting reminds me so much of my uncle...as you know Down syndrome people have their eyes set differently..

This eye setting seems to have something to do with the reason why they like to skim the top of the water with their heads and eyes above the water...perhaps they come from shallow waters :) They even like to jump out of the water!

The next cute thing about them is their lips..they seem to have bigger lips, enough to were they can poke them out. My uncle John thinks it is funny to poke his lips out and he loves to do in church and giggle.

Another cute thing is their Giraffe like spots!

So, I had to have them!

I tried to take pictures...but they just would not comply and hold still..but I got a few shots...maybe you can see what I am talking about..

here is their spots

I have named them after my uncle..John, John Boy, and Cletus (my uncle's nickname)

They are some nice GSP's ! I had to laugh when you said about your Uncle John poking his lips out in church and giggling, sounds very cute. I also like the names you gave the puffers, especially Cletus, that's good! :thumb:

I went to buy some Pimafix on Friday and ended up buying another GSP ..... only this one has alot of very small spots on the top. I can't believe how small it looks compared to my 2 rather large GSP's. I will try and get some photos so you can see the difference. :)

I liked that lip thing too. The son of our school's principal when I was a kid had Down's syndrome. He was nearer to my sister's age. She has William's syndrome and is 7 years older than me (I was the surprise caboose). One of my friends in elementary school had Down's syndrome too, Sarah. She was a lot like what you've described about your Uncle John.
