Re: Ferrets
(I think) It's when people like farmers etc keep ferrets and send them down rabbit holes to kill the rabbits.

Re: Ferrets
alot of people use ferrets and dogs to go rabbit hunting over here as well.
they go after other animals but thats illegal!
the ferrets flush the animals out of the holes, then the dogs chase and kill.

Re: Ferrets
i had to do the same. did it this way and using bitter apple if he was nippy when you tried to hold him. they would only bite few times and seemed ok after and wouldnt try.Nick wrote:You have to learn them about biting. They bite each other in play quite a bit, doesn't seem to break their skin, but ours is not made of rubber like theirs. We'd have to break them of the habit with humans at the pet store. It sounds mean, but the only thing that worked for us without batting their noses(which seems mean) is poking the back of their throats with the bitten finger and forcing a gag reflex. Not exactly nice, but it quickly makes them less inclined to nibble fingers.
