Dr Tims question

I got Dr Tims for fresh water today frim dr foster and smith. Its in the fridge. My tank has been filled with water but uncycled. Should I change water then add dr tims the fish- immediately? I have a 5.5 and want to do. Dp. Never used dr tims before but heard highly of it here.

I believe yes to Tims and fish but I've never used it. What does the bottle say, is it any help? Why would you change the water first?

Really though, I'd wait to hear from someone who knows what they're talking about.

I changed the water then added new. Then aclamated the puff and otto (without adding tank water). Then added the Dr. Tim's then the fish. It's so cloudy- cool! Here's hopin' its a good! However, I stepped on and broke my glass top. I'll have to watch the evaporation.

You need to add Dr.Tims directly in to the filter then add the fish. For a HOB I've added it in the section where the intake tube/impeller are in the filter. In canisters, I let it fill with water, tear the filter down all the way to the lowest stage, add the Dr. Tims, and then the filter trays, connect and turn on. The bacteria gets trapped in the mechanical media and on the bio media. But, yes, you definitely need to add the fish as soon as you add it so the bacteria has an ammonia source.

I added it to the filter media then added the *teeny weeny* puff.
