Brought home two interestingly spotted GSPs. :)
They're tiny and stressed, so they'll probably color up normally, but I had a feeling about them, and they came home with me. One has almost no spots, and the other has normal spots but they are surrounded by a very light green. I'm excited to see how they grow and what they'll look like later on.

And, My poor dog got neutered today. RIP Captain's Manhood.
He almost bit the vet too :x

and who could blame him. Did he get neuticles(http://www.neuticles.com/) put in? It's for the dogs that really enjoy their licking.

I thought it was for self esteem? Isn't that what it says?

Seriously though. The dog doesn't care and why do these owners want to see testicles on their dogs. Do they not see theirs enough or something?

It is absurd to talk of one animal being higher than another. We consider those, when the cerebral structure/intellectual faculties most developed, as highest. A bee doubtless would when the instincts were.

Heheh. If your dog is really into licking them, I can see not wanting to take that away from him. I don't think it would effect their esteem or behavior unless you wait until they're much older to do it. I didn't think dogs had a sense of self image until my aunt cut the long coat of a dog she had way down because it was hot in the summer. She did a terrible job of it, and the dog KNEW. Previously he was outside 75% of the time, but after having this done, he just hid in the house unless he had to "go" and continued to do so until the hair grew back in normally.

I met with my academic advisor and confessed that I want to go into local, organic, sustainable agriculture and community gardening (I'm a theatre major), while keeping my major and later staying involved with theatre in the community. He was super-excited, checked that I was going to be able to get the training/education I'd need in spite of keeping my major (yep, you can't really study ag in college for practical application anyway), then started printing off information about the theatre of the oppressed and suggesting ways to use theatre to bring about awareness in my future community about the agriculture situation in this country (which is absolutely miserable). That was so nice. He's such a kind, grandfatherly old fellow, and I would have felt awful if he had been disappointed. It's so nice to have professors who genuinely want the best for you and are excited to see you figuring out what you want to do.

And then my mama brought me a food delivery - vegetarian frozen meals, salmon, veggie soup, veggie burgers and whole-wheat buns, soy snacks, and some fancy tea. I've quit eating factory-farmed meat, and it's hard to do that on our campus. But I'm starting the Real Food Challenge on campus next semester - it's a nationwide movement to get local, organic, sustainable, and, above all, ETHICAL food into college and university dining services. Let me tell you, if you care at all about animals, people, the environment, the economy, and yourself, you should find out what conventional, non-sustainable agriculture is doing to our world. :( Local and organic is the way to go.

"I will give you a talisman. Whenever you are in doubt, or when the self becomes too much with you, apply the following test. Recall the face of the poorest and the weakest man whom you may have seen, and ask yourself, if the step you contemplate is going to be of any use to him or her. Will she gain anything by it? Will it restore her to a control over her own life and destiny? In other words, will it lead to freedom for the hungry and spiritually starving millions? Then you will find your doubts and your self melt away."

I spent a few hours with a friend's litter of 5 week old american eskimo dog puppies :-) I haven't had a pup since 1996 (he was the best dog ever, and passed away in 2007). All my current "reskies" were adults, and I WANT A PUPPY!!! But alas, my guys all have issues that make a puppy a bad idea. Someday...

After selling $100 worth of corals to a fellow who traveled 50 miles for them, swam 50 laps in the pool, soaked in the jacuzzi & steamroom...

i came up with a name for my chameleon while at work today :D (see pic above) i named him "Picasso". cause he looks so artsy and abstract..... ive rambled off a few names to some friends, and picasso seems to be a unanimous favorite... i was on the fence about picasso, hippie, woodstock, or jerry garcia lol... i went with picasso because if im going to spend this kind of money on an animal, im not going to name him something silly lol. anyway, tell me what you think, or if you have any other suggestions please
thanks!
