I can't help Myself

Post by MrHumphries »

LOL!

I went out and got a 5 Gallon tank, so i could put my only DSP into it, well I went out and got some ghost shrimp yesterday, and ended up getting a Mystery snail, well i put it into the 55 with the Oscars, and when i turned around about 15 mins later, the tiger had it in her month LOL! so I recused it and put it
in with my DSP.

Well my wife went out today and bought me another two mystery snails, LOL! so i had to put them in with the DSP as well LOL! one of the snails is HUGE!
like 4 inchs across at least LOL! So now my little 5 gallon has a DSP, 3 Mystery snails and 2 ghost shrimp LOL! I am thinking ists a bit over stocked so tomorrow I am going out to pick up a used 5 gallon Complete so I can put the DSp in by herself..

I'm getting addicited again LOL!

I'm glad to hear that you're going to put the DP into a tank on it's own, and the reason is, even though those snails are huge compared to that little puffer, believe it or not, he will eventually harass it. I had some huge Apple snails, big as your fist and my DP's made a game out of harassing those poor snails, and that's the reason I finally gave them away. They (DP's) would hover next to the snail, watching it, and then would go in for a bite of the meaty bits that were exposed. The poor snail, I actually felt sorry for a snail! Nothing deserves to be tormented though. I rather enjoy my snails, I now have them in with my big Congo puffer, Orangey, as he just ignores them. I even seen the largest snail cruising over Orangey as he was buried in the sand! :D

My finance has a 7 gallon nano bowfront retrofitted with 40 watts of light as a heavily planted apple snail tank. I wish the snails would stop burrowing in the flourite, it's the strangest thing, they never burrowed in regular gravel tanks. I think they just like to dig up my plants. There's also a guppy in there to clean up after the snails.
