Hard corals are referred to as "Small Polyped Stony" corals

Really not a concern, it will happen under even normal output florescent (t8, t12)SammyDee wrote:How long to get the dead rock all purple?
Wattage alone is not important. Example, a 4x65 watt powercompacts are going to put out less light than 4x54watt T5s (with parabolic reflectors).

are you connecting the sump to an already established system, if so, no concern.SammyDee wrote:Any suggestions to kick off my sump with Bacteria buy ading something. 15gal sump

Do not try any type of tropical anemone in less than 8wpg light... maybe a bit less for a bubbletip. Some "oddball" anemones will do ok with normal lighting ranges, but be careful with these. It's BAD when they die.
No matter how magnificent your successes or devastating your failures, the worlds' approximately 5 billion impoverished people could not possibly care less.

I've got a bunch of these tulip nems I could send you, along with some leathers, giant polyps, etc.

Re: Another lighting question...
Wow guys thx for that great advice. PP I would definetly be interested. But im only at 1.018 SG right now. And I really want to be safe to not kill anything. Still need to add some live rock too. If its safe the buy all means. You should kno though I have no XP with SW soo.. how hard are they to keep. The polyps and nems. Great pics too.
And Id kno I could trust it coming from your tank too rather than the LFS thx. How bout a pic of the leathers too. Im not sure what they look like like and Im sure there a million variations too lol
Mekong- yes Id be connecting it to my BW setup should i just start running it. Right now its dry cuz i got the HOB filters on. But ill get it going ASAP so the sooner I can get rid of the HOB
I really want some nems but Im afraid the GSP will think theyre worms. Dont they sting?

Re: Another lighting question...
The little tulips do not sting. It's hit-or-miss as to whether the puffers will nip at anything or not.

Re: Another lighting question...
Should I worry about getting stung if they were bigger?

Re: Another lighting question...
They never get larger than 2". They do not sting, not all nems do.
