Thanks for the suggestion. Which of these bulbs would be best to replace the actinic? I am unsure what they mean by deep blue 03 and bright blue? Thanks in advance for any more input.
Much thanks to PP for the lighting set up too!!

Can anyone tell me about a bulb. It has the following listed on it. FR96/03/SQ the manufacturer is UV lighting company. I know it is a 96 watt and square pin. Just curious if anyone knows how to get the light specs on it. Thanks in advance for any help.

I tried Google & couldn't find anything. Sorry--I wish I could remember the name of the site I bought that off of.

Re: Another lighting question...
You are the one that gave me the sight for that listed a Deep Blue 03 bulb. I am wondering if the bulb stamp is meaning just that? It is a real deep blue color so that would make sense. Shipped that other light back today so hopefully I will have the 10k in a week. The tank is awfully blue with the 96 watt actinic and 30 watt t8Pufferpunk wrote:I tried Google & couldn't find anything. Sorry--I wish I could remember the name of the site I bought that off of.

Re: Another lighting question...
Isn't aqua traders the company that imports cheap no UL rated lights to the USA? I remember a company with a name like that and a number of people had their MH setups catch on fire, happened to a few people in my reef club.
I might be wrong, but it looks a lot like that.

Re: Another lighting question...
Best:
250 watt Metal Halide, you should be able to find a decent ballast/fixture/ bulb for ~$300
Better:
4x39 watt T5 $306.95 for complete fixture, less for retrofit kit. (remember if a T5 doesn't have effective reflectors its no better than PC)
Good enough for soft corals:
2x96 watt PC (price varies)

Re: Another lighting question...
Are there preference here amongst the style bulbs. I may attempt some corals in the future. And I don't know what Ill get. Mostly lower maintenance ones but still. I may try an anemone too. So what's everyone here use the T5 style or the PC Or LED Or.... what one can be good. I want something with the housing/Bulbs/fans and day/night/lunar lights and timer. Any brands specifically and sites to look at for them? Would my normal florescent bulb be good enough for my live rock to grow be rich and colorful. Im really want some really purple coralline algae.

I've got a normal t8 or t10 (?) double with a 10000k and an actinic on Zephyr's tank and the mushrooms and polyps do great and the coraline is spreading like crazy...

Re: Another lighting question...
I have 6 T5s over my main DT & can keep anything I like in there. I have a MH/T5 combo & can also keep most anything I want in there too. I started with a 55g & PC lights & kept a pretty well-stocked tank with those lights too, just no SPS (or just a few easy ones).
